Mr. Lieberman, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a graduate of Shady Side Academy and Penn State University. He has more than 50 years of experience in the insurance industry. Bill began his career in 1970 with The Connecticut-Mutual Life Insurance Company. In 1978, he merged his firm with The Frankel Company, a regional, independent insurance-brokerage firm. In 1989, The Frankel Company merged with Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs (HRH), a publicly-traded insurance brokerage firm, where he remained until 2002 when HRH merged with Willis Towers Watson. At that time, he joined AON, a multinational financial services firm with offices in over 120 countries, where he stayed until 2015 when he founded W. K. Lieberman Company, LLC. In 2022, he merged his firm with The Monteverde Group, LLC.
Mr. Lieberman has served as Chair of the Manchester-Bidwell Corporation, and was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Board of Trustees and served on the Executive Committee. When Pittsburgh was declared a financially distressed city in 2004, he served as Chair of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority (ICA) – which oversaw the finances for the City of Pittsburgh.
He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and as a Trustee for the University of Pittsburgh where he is a member of the Athletics, Compensation, and Property and Facilities Committees. Additionally, he is on the Board of Directors of AMPCO-Pittsburgh Corporation, an international maker of forged and cast rolls, where he chairs the Nominating and Governance Committee, and is a member of the Compensation, and Executive Committees.
Bill resides in Shadyside with his wife, Sissy. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
